Following the passage of Panama’s new labor law, TECNASA officially opened for business. With the vision to provide a service to a demanding market, TECNASA developed an innovative payroll-calculating software.

In order to improve the culture of trusted service cultivated at TECNASA, we began renting and selling office equipment, bringing the first fully automated word processing systems to Panama.

To gain international recognition and further legitimize the company, TECNASA signed a distribution partnership with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), the world’s fourth-largest computer manufacturer.

To meet DEC’s production needs, TECNASA is certified as a Microsoft Solution Provider and Microsoft Authorized Training Center, installing more than 2,400 Exchange seats with their respective NT Windows servers.

Following the largest merger in the history of the computer industry, DEC is acquired by Compaq, and a distribution partnership with Compaq is signed.  New Horizons also opens in Panama to offer Microsoft-certified training in the use of the technology we provide our customers.

As TECNASA continued to grow, offering clients the best service with a centralized, highly-qualified staff included expanding our headquarters to a new, more modern and comfortable office in Panama City, the region’s technology hub. Additionally, TECNASA became the only company in Panama authorized to sell, support and maintain NCR products.

TECNASA experienced significant growth between 2001 and 2003. The company opened an office in El Salvador after NCR offered the rights to sell, support and maintain their products and services in the country. Between 2001-03, TECNASA was also named a distributor and authorized service center for all HP solutions, recognized as a Gold Business Partner for Microsoft and named HP Corporation Platinum Business Partner — the highest distinction a partner can acquire with HP. TECNASA also signed distribution agreements with Cisco, APC, McAfee and others.

To offer customers improved service and to expand the areas we operate in, TECNASA opened an office in Managua, Nicaragua and an additional Panamanian office, in David, Chiriquí.

In recognition of our outstanding service, McAfee named TECNASA the 2009 “Reseller Partner of the Year” — one of the most prestigious awards the company gives out. TECNASA also became ISO 9001:2000 certified for its payroll-processing services.

Another period of remarkable growth is experienced. TECNASA arrived in two new countries: Guatemala and Ecuador.

In 2013, TECNASA opened operations in Costa Rica — the sixth country in TECNASA’s portfolio.

TECNASA consolidates its regional presence by acquiring CSS Intelisys, a well-known IT solutions integration company in Honduras.

The following year, NCR awards TECNASA with two of its highest recognitions: Solutions Provider of the Year and Service Provider of the Year.
